A little Skateboard history:
The very first skateboards were retailed in 1958 by Bill and Mark Richards. They simply nailed roller skate wheels to planks of wood and sold them in their surf shop. The first mass production started in the 1960's when skateboards were shaped more like surf boards. Through the 70's and 80's skateboards continued to evolve but it was in the 90's and the 2000's that the skateboard revolution took over. Now skateboarding is a main stream sport and there are many of incredible companies that design and manufacture top of the line skateboards and accessories for you to buy. On top of that skateboarding has been accepted as a main stream sport and with avenues like the XGames the popularity of the skateboard keeps growing.
